Join us for the BMWDFW 50th Anniversary Texas Spelunker Ride Away in the 2022 Fall Season
The BMW Motorcycle Owners of America is moving their Kerrville “Getaway” event to the first weekend in October and renaming it The Thrill in the Hills/The Texas Hoedown.
The MOA Big Texas Hoedown registration option is planned for a Thursday arrival with 3 nights of dinners included.
The MOA Texas Two Step registration option is for a Friday arrival and two nights of dinners with the MOA

You can join any part of the ride events and choose to take part with us in the MOA dinners and ride on Saturday. Or choose to be more on your own and join us for the club activities. Either way, let’s visit a few of the wonderful caverns open to the public in central Texas. Natural Bridge Caverns, the Caverns of Sonora and the Cave Without A Name. And then we will join in the Kerrville Getaway festivities with the MOA.
***Ride starts on Wednesday September 28th and spends 4 nights at the Inn of the Hills, the HQ hotel for us and the MOA Getaway***
Wed, 09/28 – Start of the Spelunker Ride Away club ride from DFW to Kerrville and we’re on our own for dinner. Meet in the parking lot and we’ll pick a restaurant. I’m leaning toward The Humble Fork in downtown Kerrville.
Thurs, 09/29 – Caverns of Sonora Spelunker Ride Away club ride then back to the Inn of the Hills. Dinner with the MOA groups if you want to participate or jump out on your own.
Fri, 09/30 – Nature Bridge Caverns and Cave Without A Name club Spelunker Ride Away club ride. Then dinner with the MOA or you’re on your own.
Sat, 10/1 – We’re planning on joining the MOA 3 Sisters ride and again joining with the MOA for dinner activities at the historic Arcadia Theatre or your choice/personal group.
Sun, 10/2 – Spelunker Ride Away club ride back to DFW and home.
Please be aware that we are NOT requiring you to join the MOA Getaway and their Hotel reservations to be a part of the BMWDFW club’s Spelunker Ride Away!
You are perfectly welcome to attend the club ride and find accommodations elsewhere in Kerrville.
If you have another preference or more economical lodgings/dining, by all means pick your spot and join us for the ride during the daytime!
(I will be joining the MOA event and participating in their evening dinners but doing the Club rides on our own. And please note that I’m adding Wednesday night to the MOA Inn of the Hills stay – Stephen)
You do not have to make the whole ride. If you want to come down for the Friday or Saturday ride, you are also welcome to join in at any point.
