New Year’s Polar Bear BBQ Run

January 1, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Yeeha! The BBQ run on New Year’s day is booked!

I thinks we scored big time as the Feedstore BBQ in Southlake is more than happy to have us.

They need a head count, so you know where this is going.

I’ve got to call them back with a head count a couple of days before we go.

Check out the details and then email me with your reservation!

Tuesday January 1st

Hurst QT station on TX10

Stands up @ 10am

We’ll take an urban scenic tour on the way over to the Feedstore @ 530 South Shite Chapel Blvd, Southlake, TX. 817-488-1445.

We’ll leave the QT station and cruise the upscale neighborhood NRH city employees lovingly call “Pleasantville”. Thru Pleasantville to see the Venue apartments that now occupy the old Mangham Airport property.

The Mangham name is synonymous with motorcycling as Stormy Mangham, along with Jack Wilson, Johnny Allen, Pete Dalio, Jess Thomas, Rusty Bradley, built his famous Triumph powered Texas Cigar streamline land speed racer in one of the airports hangars. There is a park at the apartments dedicated to Stormy and his accomplishments.

Still  surrounded by the Venue apartment property, we will also ride by the home of the Brahmas minor league hockey team. In homage to Mangham field, their facility is designed in the appearance of an airport hanger and terminal complete with a faux control tower. Across the street you can still see original airplane hangers and few airplane pieces that were once part of the Bobby’s Planes and Parts aircraft salvage business.

From there we cruise through areas well known to former club President Andy Jones as he lives just a few blocks away. Keep your eyes peeled as many beautiful homes in this area and along our path through Colleyville to Southlake may just have you looking for a realtor and a new home purchase!

Ride with us, or meet us at the Feedstore BBQ about opening time at 11:00am!
